Blockchain Technology and its Applications

A session on Blockchain technology and its applications was organised by the department of Computer Science & IT on 7th November 2018. The speaker Mr Waqar Zaka with his team explained the background of blockchain technology to the students. He discussed the potential emerging applications of blockchain and highlighted interesting ideas of exploiting blockchain technology in undergraduate students projects. Project Showcase 2016 (CSIT & SE Department)

The Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering organized its third yearly exhibition of students’ projects “Projects Showcase 2016” on Friday, December 16, 2016. A variety of projects related with Health, Security, Business and Education were displayed in the event.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Sikandar Ali Shoro, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh visited the projects and appreciated the quality of work by the students in developing these projects. Mr. Ashraf Kapadia (Country Manager AT&T, Pakistan Branch) was the Guest of Honor at the occasion.
The projects were evaluated by judges from Texpo Pakistan, Folio3 and Server4Sale for the “Best Project 2016” award.
The project “Learning Gestures” developed by ”Sarah Ahmed” and ”Nudrat Naved” of Final Year Software Engineering was declared as the Best Project and was awarded a Shield by the CS&SE Department. This project provides an alternative to phone calls, designed especially to enable distant (or face-to-face) communication between people with hearing and speaking disorder

Project Showcase 2014 (CS&IT Department)

The Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering (Formerly Computer Science & Information Technology) organized an exhibition of its students’ projects “Projects Showcase 2014” on Thursday, 4th Dec 2014. A variety of projects were displayed in the event including the award winning projects of PASHA ICT Awards 2014, Microsoft Windows Phone Hackathon, Telenor Apportunity 2014 and DICE Virtual Innovation Competition 2014.
Distinguished guests from the IT industry including Mr. Ashraf Kapadia, Ex CEO of Systems Limited and a senior IT Management Consultant attended the event and appreciated the efforts and quality of work by the students in developing these projects.  The projects were evaluated by judges from Microsoft Pakistan, Elastica, Contour Software and Catcos Pvt. Limited for the “Best Project 2014” award.
The project titled “Named Entity Recognition in Urdu” developed by ”Yasmeen Saher” and ”Fatima Sajid” of Final Year BCIT Programme was declared as the Best Project and was awarded a Shield by the CS & IT Department and an Android Tablet PC by

IT Exhibition & Competition (ITEC) -The Mega Event

IT Exhibition & Competition (ITEC) is an annual event organized by the Computer Science & Information Technology, NEDUET. The objective for arranging this event is to unleash the potential of our youngsters and to get their talent recognized by the industry.
This event not only act as stimulus for the students in burnishing their analytical abilities but is also a source of knowledge for the visitors and a great cause of motivation for the guest students. The display of various projects in the Project Exhibition set new standards of innovation and creation.
